Sacred Energy Movement

Qigong Dynamic Meditation Massage Therapy

“I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass, how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields, which is what I have been doing all day.”

The Summer Day, Mary Oliver

What is Qi? Why practice Qigong?

Qigong is mysterious and beautiful and a potent remedy for our time - both the mundane and chaotic world. It is an ancient Taoist practice of gentle meditative movement, that invites us to dwell in the present moment. Based on traditional Chinese Medicine theory - which states that Qi, the life force, moves in channels, or meridians, throughout the body, it can be cultivated and balanced to optimize health and well being. In practice there is an absorption of awareness in the fluid motions, mantras and gentle breathing. The resulting quality of attention and intention in habitual practice may eventually prove to be transformational in its impact on our body-mind consciousness. Qigong enhances the flow and harmony of qi within us, releasing stress and improving our health and emotional and physical well being. Many documented studies have shown that Qigong is an effective Complementary Therapy.

I have found Qigong to be a gentle, yet powerful, method of shedding stress and negativity, and tapping into a well spring of good energy - qi! I feel more present in an effortless way afterward, and with the ease and relaxation of an energized state of well-being.

“Qigong has to do with cultivating a “mindful body” or an “embodied mind” to influence the movement, quality and/or quantity of Qi within a person.”
